As I’ve mentioned before, Podcasting for Businesses is something that brands should definitely think about as they are working on organic content strategies. Audio is definitely going to continue to trend and become an even bigger advertising channel in the years to come. With the launch of Spotify’s Ad Network, and now Youtube Music, more and more people are utilizing streaming services to consume their music throughout the day. Youtube recently launched their Music platform and so far, it seems to be quite the well thought out platform. That should be assumed considering they took their findings from Google Play Music and Youtube, combined them together and built the ultimate platform for listening to tunes.

I’m a huge fan of spotify now that I’ve experienced it’s playlist capability, and I’ve slowly been testing Google’s Youtube Music since it’s launch. I’ve purchased music on Google Play before so it remembered a lot of my choice in music which is a great benefit in my opinion.

I am waiting for confirmation from Google Adwords themselves, but at this point it is safe to say that your Youtube Preroll campaigns (Adwords) are also going to be run on Youtube Music.

Throughout listening to music you will see the same ads that are pre-rolled on the Youtube.com platform itself.

Example of a video ad on Youtube Music:

In reality, It appears that Youtube’s Music platform is really just a filtered view of Youtube Uploads that are categorized as music.

You will see that both of these links point to the same video:

In fact you can take the URL of any music video on Music.Youtube.com and remove music; you will end up on the standard youtube.com platform.

So to answer this question.

To run your ads on the Youtube Music platform, use adwords, and make sure you are targeting music and music related content.
